UU profile: which fittings and which press jaw?

The U profile is used for multilayer pipe, for example with Uponor MLC, VSH MultiPress, Wavin Tigris M and Ke-kelit Kelox. Note: U is not the same as UP. The newer Uponor S-Press Plus fittings need the UP profile.

Which set do you need for U?

The U profile is in all three sets: Standard (32 kN), Compact (19 kN) and Standard Mini (15 kN). Which one you need depends on your press tool, not on the fitting. Each set has 1 press jaw and 19 inserts (TH, V, U and M), from €345, free shipping in the EU. The UP profile is an optional add-on (+€50).

Frequently asked questions

Look at the fitting or the packaging: the profile is usually marked (for example "U"). If in doubt, pick brand and system in our profile checker or send a photo of the fitting to info@stahlpresse.com.
No. UP has a notch for Uponor S-Press Plus; a regular U insert does not press S-Press Plus properly. The other way round works: UP inserts also press regular U fittings.
Only if the manufacturer has approved the fitting for it. Some fittings may be pressed with several profiles; those are listed in the table above under "also pressable with". Otherwise always use the manufacturer's profile.
The set includes the U sizes 16 · 20 · 25 · 32.
